The company was incorporated as a partnership in 1941 by Albert Stephen styled “Stephen and Sons” and operated successfully in Kandy. Currently operating as Construction Managers & Planners (Pvt) Ltd with its distinctive logo CMPL STEPHEN, the company has G.A. (Tony) Stephen – son of Albert Stephen as its current Managing Director. Stephens’ Construction (Pvt) Ltd is an associate company.
Professionals from the industry added to the team have helped the company to compete and survive in the construction industry of Sri Lanka. The company is now in the process of grooming the 3rd generation in carrying on the business. The company has managed to stay large enough to handle complex projects most competently and with poise yet small enough to provide the client with the attention to detail.
